It led Davis Jr. to declare it “one of the best ways modern civilization has ever had to sit somewhere.” Today, the brand is much stronger than it was then, but this vision for its electrified future ushered in a similarly transformative period for the company—hence the revival of the 2025 Neue Klasse name.

The front end of the 2025 Neue Klasse concept incorporates a forward-slanting nose and exaggerated kidney-shaped faux grilles, which are undoubtedly inspired by the classic 2002 model. However, this concept car is not a mere imitation of the 1960s classic. It features a digital grille with lights that pulsate slowly, giving the impression that the car is breathing.

The small car’s narrow roof pillars and large windows create an illusion of a larger greenhouse. Its profile is simple, with very few character lines, resulting in a flat look. The only crease on the door helps to connect the front and rear wheels.

The taillamps of the car consist of 3-D printed parts that are arranged in a cascading design, providing a sense of depth while bright red LEDs shine from behind. The 21-inch wheels are designed in a way that maximizes aerodynamics without compromising on their appearance. The vehicle uses a pair of rear-facing cameras on thin stalks instead of exterior mirrors, which hopefully will not be included in the production model.

The automaker has been revealing details about the new architecture for months, and at CES, BMW gave a sneak peek of the interior of the Neue Klasse 2025 car.

The 2025 BMW Neue Klasse concept will have a head-up display. BMW has confirmed that this feature will be included in the production version of the car. A black panel extends the width of the dashboard, serving as a projection screen for BMW’s next-gen iDrive system called Panoramic Vision.

The interior of the car has a vintage feel due to the four midcentury-modern bucket seats installed inside it. BMW has opted for yellow corduroy upholstery for the seats, which adds warmth to the white interior. The cabin is divided by a floating center console, and the steering wheel is multi-functional. Not only does it have a flat bottom, but it also has a flat top and sides, giving it a square-ish look.

BMW Neue Klasse Power

BMW’s latest electric vehicle platform, the 800-volt system, is being introduced in the New Class. This new platform features a battery design with 20% higher energy density. That’s combined with improved aerodynamics, high-efficiency electric motors and better thermal management. BMW’s current EV drivetrain could increase the vehicle’s range by up to 30%. The Neue Klasse architecture is tuned to offer up to a megawatt or 1,340 horsepower, but the full application may not be available on the M3 at first, according to BMW Blog.

The Neue Klasse concept introduces a cylindrical battery that is even more energy-dense than the one currently used in BMW EVs. BMW Car Magazine unveiled some of the key features of the RWD and AWD configurations, including batteries ranging from 75 kWh to 150 kWh, and a driving range of up to 621 miles.

It is too soon to discuss the release date or pricing for the 2025 Neue Klasse. Combining meaningful function and serious luxury, the Vision New Class is the BMW Company’s boldest commitment to reducing the environmental impact of production and operation. The design concept, unveiled in September at the IAA Mobility Show in Munich, is expected to see six Neue Klasse models in 2025.

2025 Neue Klasse appears that this concept will serve as the foundation for a new series of BMWs that will replace the longstanding 3 Series, 5 Series, and 7 Series saloons that have been a part of the brand’s core line-up for years.
